About

Purchasing a yacht should be exciting, but there are often many facets to it that are new to buyers. For our clients much of the uncertainty is mitigated by our considerable experience negotiating contracts, establishing offshore registration, limiting tax and personal exposure, sourcing professional crew, and identifying and engaging reputable caretakers to look after yachts in the owners' absence.

Bob MarstonWhen the time comes to market your yacht for resale, we will carefully design and execute a tailored plan to assure the successful disposition of this significant asset. Our relationships across a broad industry network of professional crew; sailmakers; yard managers; and charter, insurance and yacht brokers assures that we reach the greatest audience of qualified buyers. We will “find her a good home” while maximizing proceeds from the sale.

In more than twenty years working with some of the industry's premier brands, Marston Yachts' principal, Bob Marston, has become widely respected as an intelligent, honest, and creative professional. It is on this reputation that he launched Marston Yachts. In doing so, his goal is to better serve the many clients with whom he has developed lasting relationships and to provide professional guidance and incomparable service to new customers seeking a more personalized experience.

Reputation is everything and Marston Yachts is always proud to provide potential clients with references upon request.

Founder Bob Marston has decades of experience in the marine industry, assisting owners and working with some of the most unique global marques.

Most recently, Bob led the sales and customer service efforts for high-performance cruising catamaran builder, Gunboat. Bob was proud to work domestically and in Asia as part of a cutting edge team at Gunboat. He utilized race-proven aerospace construction techniques that embraced thinking beyond the traditional yachting box. There, Bob developed his appreciation for high-performance cruisers and gained a strong understanding of advanced materials, systems and onboard power generation technologies.

Prior to Gunboat, Bob was a Sales Manager at the U.S. operations of Oyster Marine. Over the course of his 11-year tenure at Oyster, Bob was responsible for new build and brokerage sales as well as directing customer service activities. Here, Bob refined his skills assisting customers with the acquisition, sale, construction, and ownership of yachts worldwide.

Bob began his career in the marine industry as a private yacht captain. This experience provided him with personal knowledge regarding efficient and cost-effective yacht management as well as a thorough understanding of modern yacht systems and handling. Bob has firsthand familiarity with the world's most attractive cruising grounds and the most reputable service facilities.

Today Bob's focus is firmly on family and business. When not assisting customers, Bob cruises the New England coast with his wife Molly and their two daughters aboard WAHINE, the 40' sloop he rebuilt himself; carts his kids to Optimist regattas; or escapes to the beach for surfing, the slopes to ski, or the marshes of New England with his Labrador retriever, Oliver.
